Boards in the Stores 2026 Returns to Cape Cod

Summer on Cape Cod is about more than beaches, sunsets, and oysters. It is also a time to celebrate the creativity, community, and local businesses that make the Cape such a special place to live and visit. One of the most anticipated community events each summer is the Boards in the Stores 2026 Online Auction, hosted annually by the Orleans Chamber of Commerce.

Beginning June 5, 2026, and running through August 2026, this unique fundraising event brings together local artists and local businesses to create one of the most exciting online auctions on Cape Cod. This year, Cape Cod Cannabis is proud to once again participate as a sponsor.

Boards in the Stores is a Cape Cod tradition that combines art, community, and philanthropy.

The concept is simple. Local businesses sponsor a surfboard shaped art board and partner with a local artist who transforms it into a one of a kind work of art. Each board is then featured in the online auction where community members, visitors, collectors, and supporters can place bids throughout the summer.

Every board tells a story and showcases the incredible talent found throughout Cape Cod. The result is a gallery of creative pieces inspired by the Cape’s natural beauty, culture, wildlife, and coastal lifestyle.

One of the reasons Boards in the Stores has become such a beloved event is that it directly benefits both the community and the artists involved.

50 Percent of Proceeds Support the Orleans Chamber of Commerce

The Orleans Chamber of Commerce works year round to promote local businesses, support economic development, and strengthen the communities of the Lower and Outer Cape. Funds raised through the auction help support programs, events, and initiatives that benefit residents, visitors, and businesses alike.

50 Percent of Proceeds Go Directly to the Artist

Artists are the heart of this event. Each board represents countless hours of creativity, craftsmanship, and passion. By participating in the auction, bidders are directly supporting local Cape Cod artists while also investing in a unique piece of coastal art. It is truly a win for everyone involved.

For the 2026 auction, Cape Cod Cannabis partnered with local artist Cape Cod Land Shark, known for creating handcrafted whimsical wood art inspired by life on Cape Cod. Our sponsored board captures the spirit of the Cape with a vibrant coastal scene featuring ocean waves, a rising sun, seabirds, whales and a heart inspired by community and connection.

What makes this board even more unique is that it features LED lighting, allowing the artwork to come alive both day and night.
